movie poster!!!!

Passion of the Christ was a very emotional movie, showing a portion of the the life of Jesus and His death. In this poster, it shows Christ on the cross on top of a mountain, during his last hours. The shot is taken from a downward angle, making it seem as if the characters are very high up. There is also an “Indexical sigh” the color and the thickness of the clouds in this poster indicats that rain is coming, and in the biblical times it did rain at the hour of Jesus’s death. The lighting in this photo is every dark blending in a lot of the characters, the picture could be using natural light, (if I were there we would be able to determine that) also there is an “Iconic sigh”, the cross its self, the way they enlarged it in the poster and the cross symbolizes Christ sacrafise for His children and His love for us.. Many people who are religious where a cross around their necks as a symbol of just that. Despite the fact that the poster is so dark, its still gives off the emotion of the moment.

composition, framing, and use of color…

2008_02_09t001834_378x450_us_ledger.jpgThe photo uses color contrast well. the way the green blends into the background of the photo, how it bring out the subject more was good. The outside light its self does a good job of high lighting the subjects hair and face from the side. The dark green from the trees in the background do a good jib of contrasting with the clothes of the subject, causing her to stand out a lot more. The photo is  also a “high-key” scene, because of that it makes it hard for the viewer to tell that the photo was taken at a funeral. The framing of the photograph makes it so the everythingaround the female subject is out of focus…. Becasue of the way the picture is set up..it bring out a lot f detail of the subject to the viewer
